Lowe's Has One-Stop Recycling Centers

Home improvement retailer Lowe’s Companies Inc. has installed recycling centers in nearly 1,700 U.S. stores to provide a one-stop recycling destination for customers. Don't throw that old cell phone away - recycle it!

The permanent recycling centers just inside the store entrance offer a free, convenient and easy way for customers to recycle:

* rechargeable batteries
* cell phones
* compact fluorescent light bulbs (CFLs)
* plastic shopping bags

Continuing their commitment to minimize their own environmental footprint, they have entered the fifth year of their nationwide pallet recycling program in 2010. Lowe's recycled more than 166,000 tons of wood pallets, 147,000 tons of cardboard and nearly 400 tons of shrink wrap in 2009.

"Reducing waste in our communities is at the heart of Lowe's recycling strategies. With a proactive approach to minimizing our impact, Lowe's is proud of the progress we've made. We continue to improve our recycling programs at our stores and other facilities."
