BWIA Celebrates Athena Award Winners for Their Leadership and Commitment to the Support of Women

Since 2001, the Greenville Chamber has honored women who have shown professional excellence, dedication to community service and continual support for other professional women throughout the community. The Athena Award was created in 1982 for the Lansing (Michigan) Chamber of Commerce, but expanded to become an international program that eventually made its way to Greenville.

Each year this annual award is presented during the Greenville Chamber's Annual Meeting in January. The following women have earned recognition for years of hard work and dedication to Greenville:

  • 2001: Patricia Haskell-Robinson
  • 2002: Vivian Wong
  • 2003: Michelle Shain
  • 2004: Susan Lill
  • 2005: Deb Sofield
  • 2006: Chandra Dillard
  • 2007: Barbara League
  • 2008: Judith Prince

For more information contact Claudia Wise at 864-239-3728. Cost to attend is $45 for special seating (space is limited and allows you to select a winner with whom to enjoy lunch). Otherwise, cost is $35 for general seating. Menu selection is available.
