Greenville attracts a large number of artists and craftspeople and therefore, is home to numerous art galleries, craft shops and cultural events. If you should have information to add to that listed below, please email us.

Bi-Lo Center is the home of the Greenville Grrrowl, the Carolina Rhinos and the Greenville Groove. It is also home of all kinds of exciting concerts, sporting events, and family events.

Carolina Ballet Theatre
For thirty years, Carolina Ballet Theatre has been providing the highest caliber training and performance opportunities for young dancers in the Upstate. As a resident company of the Peace Center, CBT produces three major productions per year, with many guest artists from major ballet companies from New York, Washington, D.C. and international locations.

Centre Stage, Greenville's Premier Professional Theatre
Centre Stage has as its focus and primary purpose the nurturing of a culturally and ethnically diverse not-for-profit theatre with broad participation by both professional and non-professional artists.

Greenville County Museum of Art
The Greenville County Museum of Art has unveiled a new exhibition, Southern Scene, which features Southern-related art and artists of the American Scene movement and its evolution from the Depression era to the Cold War years of the 1950s. The term "American Scene" describes the socially aware, politically oriented art, focused specifically on American subjects, that was developed during this period in a variety of styles.

Greenville County Symphony
Founded in 1948 as a creative outlet for Greenville musicians and music lovers, The Greenville Symphony Orchestra has grown into a widely respected professional regional symphony. In more than 100 performances a year, the group remains true to its original vision, as it entertains and educates our region's music lovers.

Greenville County Youth Orchestra
The orchestra's approximately 100 members represent many of the high schools in the district, as we as other public and private schools from across South Carolina's Upstate.

Greenville Little Theatre

Greer Cultural Arts Council
GCAC currently presents 4 plays per season, offers summer arts camp programs, and provides for other artistic opportunities throughout the year, including acting, drawing, dancing, and music.

Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities
The Governor's School presents classes on creative writing, dance, drama, music, and the visual arts, and hosts many performances and concerts throughout the year.

Metropolitan Arts Council
The mission of the Metropolitan Arts Council is to stimulate and support artistic expression and its appreciation and enjoyment in ways that enrich all citizens, artists, cultural organizations, and communities of the metropolitan upstate.

Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University
The Museum & Gallery at Bob Jones University, recognized as the “largest collection of religious art in the Western Hemisphere,” features works by major artists such as Rubens, van Dyck, Reni, Tintoretto, Le Brun, Cranach, Ribera, and Murillo, aesthetically exhibited with period furniture, sculpture, tapestries, and porcelains.

Peace Center for the Performing Arts

South Carolina Arts Commission
The South Carolina Arts Commission (SCAC) was established in 1967, as an agency of state government to develop and implement a comprehensive statewide program to advance the arts in South Carolina, and to assure their excellence.

Upcountry History Museum
The Upcountry History Museum strives to promote, present and preserve the history of Upcountry South Carolina through education, research and service.

  Upstate SC Bonsai Study Group
An informal group that meets monthly to study and discuss the art of bonsai. Meetings range from general work-sessions to guest artists with lots of variety in between.

Upstate Visual Arts
Upstate Visual Arts began officially in 1991, when a small group of area business and cultural leaders resolved to serve both area artists and the community by celebrating the vast talent of local artists. UVA now exists as a thriving non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization, almost 500 members strong, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life within the community by elevating the stature of visual art and educating the public to its significance.


Warehouse Theatre
The Warehouse Theatre is a community-based, professional theatre organization dedicated to the concept of acting as a serious art form, and to the presentation of high-quality, diverse and challenging dramatic entertainment in an intimate and informal atmosphere.





Carolina Cool Jazz Orchestra

An auditioned community orchestra composed of professional and non-professional musicians, the Carolina Cool Jazz Orchestra strive to educate, entertain and enrich people's lives through Contemporary, World and Jazz oriented music.

Carolina Foothills Artisan Center

The Carolina Foothills Artisan Center is organized and shall operate exclusively as a nonprofit corporation to develop the educational, artistic, cultural and economic growth of the Upstate by providing means for North and South Carolina artists to demonstrate the creative process and to showcase the products of their talents to a wide variety of citizens and by providing a place for citizens to learn about and purchase the work of Carolina artisans.


Flat Rock Playhouse

Flat Rock Playhouse is the state theatre of North Carolina and one of the finest local playhouses in the United States. Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium
Spartanburg, SC
Spartanburg's grand old lady, the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium, reopened after an extensive $10.5 million renovation, and is a great venue for entertainment. The new renovations include a new lobby, complete with custom carpeting, a specialty coffee bar, copper chandeliers, and arched skylights. The concession stand has rich oak cabinets behind the counter, and just around the corner is a new souvenir booth.
